Campus Safety Log: April 10-16

April 10

10:00 a.m. INFORMATION, Beta Theta Pi. Campus received a city complaint regarding trash containers not being removed from terrace on the day of trash pick up. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:25 p.m. DISTURBANCE, Post Hall. Campus Safety assisted in shutting down an event due to excessive alcohol being present. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

April 11

6:10 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to Post Lobby after receiving a report of a suspicious person.

6:40 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. Student transported by ambulance for treatment.

11:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. The Galesburg Fire and Police Departments and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station. A check of the building found no reason for the activation.

April 12

2:00 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a report of vandalism in a bathroom.

2:57 a.m. FIRE, Seymour Hall. The Galesburg Fire and Police Departments and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station after a trashcan caught on fire.

3:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

7:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 530 S. West. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

April 13

9:30 a.m. THEFT, 175 W. Knox St. The Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of a bike theft.

10:31 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

April 14

8:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Gale House. Galesburg fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

1:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi House – 616 S. West.

April 15

9:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

April 16

1:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

5:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

6:00 a.m. MEDICAL, Neal House. Campus Safety responded to a call from Neal where a student was ill.
