Campus Safety Log: April 24-May 1

April 23

8:30 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Knox-Cedar parking lot. Campus Safety responded to a report of juveniles possibly tampering with equipment.

8:50 a.m. THEFT, CFA. Campus Safety and the Galesburg Police Department received a report of a golf cart that was taken from the area outside of CFA. The cart was recovered later in the day.

April 24

9:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A report of an email scam was received.

11:00 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of possible harassment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

April 25

1:30 a.m. NOISE, 284 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects.

7:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 270 W. Tompkins. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

April 26

12:10 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Drew House. Campus Safety Officers responding to a noise complaint found evidence of a “beer pong” type game in progress. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:11 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

1:35 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Sigma Chi. Knox College parking sign was recovered from a room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:20 p.m. DISTURBANCE, Phi Gamma Delta. Campus Safety responded to a report of a possible fight. No fight had taken place.

April 27

12:16 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

2:25 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported by ambulance for treatment of possible alcohol poisoning. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

April 28

8:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

9:20 p.m. NOISE, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects.

April 29

5:21 p.m. THEFT, Seymour Hall. A bike was reported stolen from the area by the mailroom door.

6:10 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Student reported that juveniles playing basketball in the area of Post and 4-Name had made inappropriate remarks to them. The juveniles fled area.

April 30

1:50 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Hamblin Hall. A female student reported an intoxicated older male had approached her at the back door of Hamblin and attempted to follow her.

2:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.
