Campus Safety Log: May 7-14

May 7

2:48 p.m. NOISE, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud music.

10:45 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 265 S. Academy. Campus Safety responded to a report of a person asking students for money.

May 8

8:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

May 9

3:10 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a dirty detector.

11:10 p.m. RECKLESS CONDUCT, 284 W. Tompkins. The Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of someone throwing glass bottles onto Academy Street. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

May 10

12:32 a.m. THEFT, Sherwin. A student reported their clothes being taken from laundry room.

5:20 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Main Campus Grounds. Students were found in possession of open alcohol at Blodgett Field. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

5:20 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Main Campus Grounds. A cooler with alcohol was confiscated from a vehicle. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

May 11

3:25 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Campbell House. Campus Safety responded to a report of two students causing a disturbance. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

3:25 a.m. POSSESSION/STOLEN PROPERTY, Main Campus Grounds. Students found in possession of property believed to be stolen.

3:25 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Main Campus Grounds. An underage student was observed to be intoxicated during investigation of previous report. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

4:57 a.m. CRIMINAL TRESPASS, Williston Hall. An intoxicated student entered an unlocked room uninvited. The student did not live in Williston but was admitted to the building by another student. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

5:05 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Williston Hall. Related to previous report. The matter was reported to the Office of Student Development.

8:25 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Hall. Students reported a person from off campus sleeping on the couch in the Sandburg Lounge. The subject was escorted off campus.

11:00 pm 911 HANG-UP, SMC. The Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up call from the outside emergency phone. The area was checked and no problems were found.

11:25 pm NOISE, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud music.

May 13

3:30 pm ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Main Campus Grounds. A window was reported broken in a pickup topper by debris possibly thrown from lawnmower or string trimmer.

5:33 pm MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. The Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Hospital and Ambulance Services and Campus Safety responded to a report of a person that was feeling ill.

May 14

12:40 am NOISE, Campbell House. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud music.
