Chengjuan Sun: Chinese professor enjoys research and teaching at Knox

Visiting Instructor of Asian Studies Chengjuan Sun enjoys reading novels, listening to music, and surfing the Internet. A graduate of Harvard University, she studied East Asian languages and civilizations. This term Sun is teaching second-year Chinese and Introduction to Chinese Civilization, and will be teaching other area studies courses during the winter and spring terms.

“I like Knox pretty much. Knox students are hard-working and smart. It is easy to get books through interlibrary loan,” she said. After her year at Knox, Sun wants to continue to concentrate on teaching. She wants to focus on her own research and sees herself in five years on a tenure track towards getting a full professor position.
