Campus Safety Log: Jan. 28-Feb. 4

January 28

INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Student reported being harassed on their Facebook page/profile.

12:50 a.m. TELEPHONE HARASSMENT, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported receiving harassing phone calls.

6:16 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi, 616 S. West. The Galesburg Fire and Police Departments and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

January 29

12:15 p.m. MEDICAL, 175 W. Knox. A student was transported to the Emergency Room for treatment.

3:58 p.m. MEDICAL, Simonds House. A student was transported by ambulance for treatment.

January 30

4:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Information was received regarding a subject who was banned from campus.

January 31

2:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

2:50 a.m. INFORMATION, Conger Hall. A door to a student’s room would not open and maintenance was called.

6:11 p.m. MEDICAL, Memorial Gym. Campus Safety, Galesburg Police Department and the Galesburg Hospital and ambulance services responded to a report of an injured person.

February 1

4:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Longden Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

February 2

11 a.m. INFORMATION, Off-Campus. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

2:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Griffith House. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunctioning heat detector

4:25 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Seymour Hall. A small fire was extinguished that was caused by cigarettes thrown into wood chips outside the front entrance.

8:20 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, 240 W. Tompkins. Damage was discovered in drywall in the hallway.

9 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Seymour Hall. The Public Safety Building reported line trouble in the fire alarm system.

9:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

10 p.m. INFORMATION, Alumni Hall. A person was injured when they slipped on ice.

February 3

12:35 a.m. NOISE, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

February 4

4:50 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported to the Emergency Room for treatment.

5:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Griffith House. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunctioning heat detector. A work order was submitted.
