Campus Safety Log: April 8-14

APRIL 8

8:20 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the activation.

APRIL 9

12:25 a.m. NOISE, Sigma Nu — 556 S. West St. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10 a.m. THEFT, Memorial Gym. A cell phone, CDs, and other items were taken from a vehicle parked by the gym.

8:10 p.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Memorial Gym. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of subjects skateboarding on the steps at the west side of the building.

9:54 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for treatment of an illness.

10:23 p.m. BATTERY, 400 Block — S. West St. A student was assaulted by three male subjects who then ran off. The Galesburg Police Department is investigating the incident.

APRIL 10

9 a.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, 265 S. Academy. A heat detector was covered. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11 a.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, 240 W. Tompkins. Smoke detectors were reported to be covered by plastic bags. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:40 p.m. 911 HANG-UP, Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up call from the outside emergency phone. The area was checked and no problems were found.

4:50 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Seymour Hall. Students were found on the roof. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:05 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

7:12 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

9:15 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on the well-being of a student.

9:55 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Griffith Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a suspicious incident.

APRIL 12

11:25 p.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. Information was received regarding a traffic stop at Prairie and South Street.

APRIL 13

12:30 a.m. NOISE, Longden Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

5:40 a.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Library. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

5:55 a.m. INFORMATION, Memorial Gym. Public Safety Building reported a trouble alarm from the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted.

6 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A cell phone was found in Harbach Theater.

1:30 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A custodian reported damage to a bench in the music wing.

4 p.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety assisted an ill student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 14

4:25 a.m. MEDICAL, Elder Hall. A student was transported to the hospital for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:20 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Post Hall. A wallet was found and returned to the student.

11:33 a.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported losing an iPod Touch somewhere on campus.
