Campus Safety Log: May 11-18

MAY 11

3 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Information was received regarding an Order of Protection obtained by a student.

MAY 12

2:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Information was received regarding an Order of Protection obtained by a student.

3:46 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported being followed by suspicious subjects. The subjects left the area and headed west.

MAY 13

4:25 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Williston Hall. Students writing on the building with chalk were asked to stop. A work order was submitted to have the chalk removed and the matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

8 p.m. INFORMATION, Fleming Fieldhouse. A student reported their hearing aids missing.

MAY 14

1 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Paint was poured over the steps and two stone markers on the front lawn.

1:45 p.m. THEFT, Longden Hall. Cash was reported missing from a dorm room.

MAY 15

6:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Griffith House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm.

8:35 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a drinking game in progress. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:10 p.m. DISTURBANCE, Seymour Hall. A student was transported for treatment of an injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Campbell Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated intentionally.

11:45 p.m. DISTURBANCE, 270 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of two people fighting. The complaint was determined to be unfounded.

MAY 16

12:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station. No smoke or fire was present in the building.

1 a.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Tau Kappa Epsilon house. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety checked on a complaint from an anonymous caller reporting suspicious activity.

1:35 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety on patrol responded to Hamblin after hearing two subjects arguing loudly on a balcony. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:15 a.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to check on a complaint from an anonymous caller reporting suspicious activity.

2:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a report of line trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

2:55 a.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. Campus Safety received a call reporting suspicious activity. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:15 p.m. NOISE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

MAY 17

3:24 a.m. FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety confiscated fireworks from students in Hamblin after observing them being set off from a balcony. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:10 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR/BUILDING, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety Officers reported finding an unsecured door.

MAY 18

1:30 a.m. NOISE, 284 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

4:04 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Sherwin. A work order was submitted to remove chalk drawings from Sherwin’s outside wall.
