Campus Safety Log: Sept. 1-9

SEPTEMBER 1

8 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Beta Theta Pi. A table was removed from the house and painted on.

12 p.m. INFORMATION, 251 S. West. A screen was cut on the laundry room window.

3:30 p.m. INFORMATION, 240 W. Tompkins. A student checked up on an earlier theft report.

SEPTEMBER 2

1:55 a.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Griffith House. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well being at the request of a family member.

4:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, International House- 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

4:45 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for treatment of an injury.

SEPTEMBER 3

1:05 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

6:15 p.m. THEFT, Fleming Fieldhouse. A bike was reported stolen.

9:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, International House- 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station.

SEPTEMBER 4

6:15 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 362 S. Academy. Campus Safety received a report of a suspicious incident.

11 a.m. THEFT, Hamlin Hall. A bike was reported stolen from a rack by the parking lot.

1:10 p.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a report of an older male asking for money in the area of Old Main and Seymour Hall.

6:40 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Neal House. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang up from the outside phone. Campus Safety checked the area and found that a student had dialed by accident.

SEPTEMBER 5

10:50 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Furrow House. Evidence of alcohol violations was reported. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:30 p.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student with a sports related injury was transported to their dorm.

SEPTEMBER 6

12:15 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. A student was transported for treatment of overconsumption of alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:35 a.m. NOISE, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to excessive noise and evidence of an unauthorized party with alcohol present. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:15 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Main Campus Grounds. A cell phone was found.

2:15 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Hamblin Hall. Galesburg Police Department called about a disturbance at Quick Sam’s.

SEPTEMBER 7

10:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

SEPTEMBER 8

11 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

6:10 p.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was transported to Prompt Care for treatment.

6:47 p.m. CRIMINAL TRESPASS, Post Hall. A subject was arrested for yelling at students and causing a disturbance.

7:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a dirty detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, ABLE House- 168 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

SEPTEMBER 9

10 a.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported the real wheel stolen from a bike in the Quads.

4:45 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center. An abandoned bike was found.

6:15 p.m. THEFT, Seymour Hall. A potted plant was stolen from the Gizmo.
