The first-year experience

Now that I am all settled in at Knox, I look back to my first week and realize that it is a miracle I got here in the first place. It took me almost a week to get to Knox. Driving all the way from California is certainly no laughing matter. Three days in a car with most of my possessions, my entire family and my dog was definitely the most hectic road trip ever.

Many people wonder why I would leave California to go to school in Illinois. I myself have asked that question. I can honestly say that I did not have an answer to that. I knew that I wanted to come to a small school where I would not get lost in a sea of thousands of students. I wanted a place where I could flourish. My few weeks at Knox tell me that I made the right choice.
