September 25 to October 6

SEPTEMBER 25

2 p.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. A TREK mountain bike was stolen from the west side of the Ford Center for the Fine Arts.

SEPTEMBER 27

9 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Hamblin Hall. A window and screen were damaged.

SEPTEMBER 29

2:18 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 530 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated when a handle melted on a coffee pot.

SEPTEMBER 30

8:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Peterson House. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

10:55 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Hamblin Hall. Cats were reported being kept in a room against college policy. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:35 p.m. INFORMATION, ASC- 368 S. Prairie. A rock was thrown at the building. No damage was found.

8:30 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Elder House. A window was broken by a student trying to get the attention of someone inside.

9:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burnt popcorn.

10 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of suspicious activity.

10:15 p.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. Information was received regarding a domestic problem.

10:40 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of suspicious activity.

10:50 p.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. Campus Safety received a report that at least two female students may have had a date rape drug placed in their drinks while at an off campus party.

OCTOBER 1

12:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burnt popcorn.

8:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 516 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

8:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Longden House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:45 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A hot smell was coming from the Xerox machine. The machine was unplugged and a work order was submitted.

OCTOBER 2

1:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station. No smoke or fire was present in the building.

4:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by hair spray.

OCTOBER 3

7:31 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Main Campus Grounds. A student ID was found and turned in to Campus Safety.

OCTOBER 4

1:45 a.m. MEDICAL, Elder House. A student was transported for treatment of an illness.

10:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm.

2:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a hair dryer.

2:56 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

9:25 p.m. CRIMINAL TRESPASS, Seymour Hall. An intoxicated subject made physical contact with a student on the public street/sidewalk and entered campus after being advised not to do so by Campus Safety. Galesburg Police Department was contacted and the individual was arrested.

OCTOBER 5

3 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm.

12:50 p.m. CRIMINAL TRESPASS, Main Campus Grounds. A subject who had been warned to stay off campus was arrested for criminal trespassing.

3 p.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. A student reported that a subject attempted to solicit money and touched her on a public street. The Galesburg Police Department was contacted and the individual was arrested.

6:20 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of an illness.

9:35 p.m. DOMESTIC, Main Campus Grounds. Students were referred to the Office of Student Development to resolve problems.

10:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Nu. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a student smoking in their room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 6

3:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

8:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm.

10:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a steam leak.

1:20 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Seymour Hall. A bag was covering a smoke detector in a student’s room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:21 p.m. MEDICAL, 251 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services, and Campus Safety responded to a report of an ill student.

5:04 p.m. INFORMATION, Elder House. Campus Safety received a complaint of inappropriate behavior outside of Elder. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:55 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.
