October 7 to October 13

OCTOBER 7

6:50 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Heating Plant. A bike was found by the west side of the building.

7:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Campbell House. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

9:30 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Tri Delta- 386 S. Academy. A suspicious person on the porch was asked to leave.

OCTOBER 8

2:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. Information was received regarding an off campus domestic dispute.

8:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House- 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

9:30 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, 251 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of a sparking power line. Ameren was called to repair the power line.

OCTOBER 9

3:30 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Seymour Hall. A stray cat was picked up by Animal Control.

11:30 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Campbell House. An underage student was observed with opened alcohol outside by the west side of the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 10

1:10 a.m. MEDICAL, Campbell House. Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services, and Campus Safety responded to a request for assistance with an intoxicated subject. The subject was transported by ambulance for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

8:32 a.m. MEDICAL, Elder House. A student was transported for treatment by the Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi- 616 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by someone smoking inside. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:30 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Post Hall. An underage student was observed with open alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

Campus Safety responded to a noise complaint and found an unauthorized party and evidence of a “beer pong” type of game in progress. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 11

1 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety on a routine patrol observed a suspicious vehicle in one of the gravel lots east of the gym. Two subjects inside were asked to leave the area.

2:40 A.M. 911 HANG UP, Campbell House. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up call from the emergency phone outside of Campbell. The area was searched and no problems were found.

3:45 p.m. THEFT, Seymour Library. A bike was stolen from the area in front of the library.

7:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

OCTOBER 12

12:45 a.m. NOISE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of a loud TV.

8:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

5:28 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 284 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

OCTOBER 13

1:20 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a “burning” smell in Seymour 2. The area was checked and no problems were found. Additional checks were made for the remainder of the night.
