Campus Safety Log: Jan. 11-19

JANUARY 11

9:15 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Peterson House. Public Safety Building reported line trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 12

10:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm.

12:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

1:30 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A lock was found damaged on a vending machine.

7 p.m. THEFT, Hamblin Hall. A television/DVD player combination and another DVD player were taken sometime during winter break.

8:10 p.m. MEDICAL, 265 S. Academy. A student was transported for treatment at the emergency room.

8:15 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR/BUILDING, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety found an unsecured door during a routine building check.

8:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi- 616 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 13

8:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a faulty detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a problem in the sprinkler system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

6:20 p.m. INFORMATION, Hamblin Hall. A student reported a group of four male subjects approached her at the corner of South and West Streets and made obscene remarks.

11:42 p.m. NOISE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

JANUARY 14

10 a.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. Thefts are under investigation.

JANUARY 15

6 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Fleming Fieldhouse. An iPod was found and turned into Campus Safety.

11:13 p.m. ROBBERY, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety, Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Fire Department, and Galesburg Hospital responded to a report of an armed robbery by the track.

JANUARY 16

12:30 a.m. NOISE, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:18 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Williston Hall. A student reported that another student had entered their room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:15 a.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Post Hall. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well being at the request of a family member.

JANUARY 17

7:40 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A student called regarding car problems.

11:30 p.m. NOISE, TKE House. Campus Safety responded to a loud noise complaint.

11:40 p.m. NOISE, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

JANUARY 18

11:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

6 p.m. INFORMATION, Knosher Bowl. Students were asked to leave the area so it could be secured.

JANUARY 19

12:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm.

3:40 a.m. MEDICAL, Elder House. An ill student requested assistance.
