Campus Safety Log: Jan. 19-26

JANUARY 19

3:25 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

9:04 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:37 p.m. 911 HANG-UP, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a 911 hang-up from a suite phone. No problems were found when the area was checked.

JANUARY 20

4:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

2:45 p.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A student was transported for treatment of an accidental overdose of prescription medication.

8:05 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Neifert Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

JANUARY 21

12:40 a.m. INFORMATION, Williston Hall. A Knox banner was missing from a pole in the parking lot.

1:20 a.m. NOISE, Post Hall. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to the 400 block of South West Street, where two Galesburg residents were arguing loudly.

5:15 a.m. UNSECURED DOORS/BUILDING, Warehouse. A custodian reported finding a door unsecured.

5:34 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Fleming Fieldhouse. Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Fire Department, and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a malfunction in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

6:12 a.m. INFORMATION, Heating Plant. Heating plant personnel were called in for a low-pressure alarm.

JANUARY 22

3:29 a.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of stomach pain. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Campus Safety responded to a report of a suspicious subject. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Post Hall. A trouble alarm was reported by the alarm company. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:45 p.m. NOISE, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects.

JANUARY 23

3:35 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi- 616 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

10:30 a.m. WATER LEAK, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Maintenance was called in to deal with rain and melting snow leaking in at the west entrance. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

1:48 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a water leak. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

5:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

JANUARY 24

12:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West St. Campus Safety checked on a suspicious subject. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:50 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked all emergency phones at the request of the Galesburg Police Department.

1:10 a.m. MEDICAL, Off Campus. Public Safety Building advised that a student had requested medical assistance from an off-campus location.

1:25 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Beta Theta Pi. A student was cited for underage drinking. A student was arrested for providing alcohol to a minor. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:50 a.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was transported for the assessment and treatment of overconsumption of alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:30 a.m. NOISE, 251 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

11:58 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

4:30 p.m. BATTERY, 265 S. Academy. A student reported unwanted physical contact. The incident is under investigation. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:45 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Neifert Hall. A student reported a suspicious incident.

JANUARY 25

9:07 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a disturbance coming from a student’s room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by water leaking onto a detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned popcorn.

JANUARY 26

12:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.
