Campus Safety Log: Jan. 24- Feb. 2

JANUARY 24

1:32 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Raub House. Custodial staff was called in to clean up after a bathroom was vandalized. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

1:42 p.m. INFORMATION, 270 W. Tompkins. Campus Life was contacted for a student.

JANUARY 26

4:31 p.m. INFORMATION, Tau Kappa Epsilon. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of suspicious persons in the area of the TKE and Beta Houses bothering students.

10:30 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Memorial Gym. A necklace was found and turned in to Campus Safety.

JANUARY 27

2 p.m. SEXUAL ASSAULT, Tau Kappa Epsilon. Inappropriate contact was reported as occurring during the weekend of January 23 to January 24. The incident is under investigation.

2:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 28

3 p.m. INFORMATION, Beta Theta Pi. College tables were recovered after being taken from Seymour Hall. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3 p.m. INFORMATION, Tau Kappa Epsilon. College tables were recovered and evidence of drinking games was found. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:15 p.m. INFORMATION, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West St. Evidence of fire code and housing violations were noted. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:20 p.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported losing a wallet.

4 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 237 W. Knox St. A student reported a suspicious person entering Sigma Chi. The person was found to be a custodian working there.

6:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

8:45 p.m. NOISE, Simonds House. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 29

7:15 p.m. MEDICAL, Memorial Gym. A person reported injuring their foot.

7:34 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to two calls reporting hearing a woman scream in the area of the track south of CFA. The area was checked and no problems were found.

8:18 p.m. SEXUAL ASSAULT, Tau Kappa Epsilon. Campus Safety received a report regarding unwanted sexual contact between two people.

10:10 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a report of cannabis smoke smell in the stairwell shared by Elder and Furrow.

10:23 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of underage drinking. No evidence of underage drinking was found.

10:30 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Williston Hall. Syrup was poured out on the carpet and in the stairwell. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 31

1:40 a.m. NOISE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud music. A college table was recovered from the room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:30 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Old Main. A large canvas banner was removed from the windows.

11:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

FEBRUARY 1

12:05 a.m. INFORMATION, 516 S. West. Problems with living arrangements were referred to Campus Life. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:45 p.m. NOISE, Conger House. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

FEBRUARY 2

7:40 a.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Seymour Hall. A fire extinguisher was found to be missing from the area near the mailroom.

8:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, Neal House. Campus Safety responded to three fire alarms within 10 minutes activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.
