Two cases of sexual assault on campus

This past week, a Knox student was expelled for sexual assault and misconduct in violation of the Knox College Student Handbook. The administration has not named the expelled student and the Galesburg Police Department is currently investigating the situation.

“Somebody came forward with what we would define as sexual misconduct/sexual assault,” said Dean of Students Xavier Romano. “I can tell you that the matter was officially investigated. Unfortunately, the student was separated; expelled from the college.”

Two sexual assaults were reported to Campus Safety, one on January 27 and one on January 29. Both took place at the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity house.

Information from the police report was mostly omitted because the case is still under investigation. No arrest has been made.
