Campus Safety Log: Feb. 16-22

FEBRUARY 16

9:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:49 a.m. THEFT, Furrow House. A college-owned chair was taken from a suite.

5:48 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety was asked to check on the well being of a student.

9:50 p.m. MEDICAL, 251 S. West. Paramedics were on campus to assist a student with a health related problem.

FEBRUARY 17

12:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Post Hall. A student reported that a change machine was not working. An out-of-order sign was posted.

8:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House- 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

11 a.m. FIRE ALARM- MALFUNCTION, 516 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

INFORMATION, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

10:12 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

11:39 p.m. MEDICAL, Hamblin Hall. A student was transported to Cottage Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

FEBRUARY 18

1:05 a.m. NOISE, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

7 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Custodial staff turned in an iPod found in the building.

10 a.m. INFORMATION, Neal House. An attempt was made to locate a student for the Office of Student Development.

10:12 p.m. THEFT, Seymour Union. A small college seal was taken from the Founder’s Day cake.

FEBRUARY 19

12:01 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

1:03 a.m. PUBLIC INDECENCY, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to complaints of loud subjects observing a person urinating in public. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:20 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. The women’s restroom across from the ceramics studio was vandalized.

8:08 a.m. 911 HANG-UP, Hamblin Hall. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up from a phone in Hamblin. It was determined to be a malfunction.

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported problems with an internet transaction.

2:35 p.m. INFORMATION, 675 S. West. Campus Safety received a complaint about unauthorized entry into a student room by another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:50 p.m. INFORMATION, 251 S. West. A student was referred to Health Services.

FEBRUARY 20

12:05 a.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Post Hall. Campus Safety was asked to check the well being of a student.

2:42 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

4:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

4:50 p.m. INFORMATION, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. A road construction sign belonging to the City of Galesburg was found outside the house. It was returned to the city.

FEBRUARY 22

3:10 a.m. INFORMATION, Sherwin House. Campus Safety responded to a report of students spray-gluing flyers to a suite door, damaging it.
