Campus Safety Log: April 20-25

APRIL 20

1:24 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

4:30 p.m. THEFT, Knox-Cedar parking lot. A Knox banner went missing from a pole in the parking lot.

5:04 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Campbell House. Students were found drawing on the exterior of Campbell. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:20 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by steam from a shower.

APRIL 21

1:20 a.m. NOISE, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects.

4:20 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a dirty detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

7:30 p.m. INTOXICATED SUBJECT, Post Hall. Campus Safety and Galesburg Police Department received a report of an intoxicated subject who was having trouble walking and cutting through the campus. The subject was arrested for public intoxication.

9 p.m. NOISE, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

11 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of subjects harassing a student in the area of SMC.

APRIL 22

Campus Safety received an unconfirmed report of a sexual assault at an unknown time and location.

12:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. A student reported a suspicious incident.

4:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

12 p.m. INFORMATION, ASC- 368 S. Prairie. Information was requested regarding the Clery Act definitions. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported threats. The incident is under investigation.

3:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

4:20 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

7:07 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

9 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

9:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Drew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

APRIL 23

9 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a pull station. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:30 a.m. MEDICAL, Campbell House. A student was transported for treatment at Prompt Care.

1:15 p.m. INFORMATION, Off Campus. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

4 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety investigated reported threats.

6:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated when a pressure relief valve opened, releasing steam from the boiler system.

7:08 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 24

10:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Library. Campus Safety received a complaint of a person panhandling.

6:28 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, 251 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a system malfunctioning. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:51 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Fleming Fieldhouse. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a system malfunction. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

APRIL 25

5:50 a.m. INFORMATION, Heating Plant. An automated alarm was received from the boiler system. Heating Plant personnel were called in.

10 p.m. MEDICAL, 251 S. West. A student was evaluated by Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services and Galesburg Fire Department personnel for a medical problem.
