Campus Safety Log: April 26-May 4

APRIL 26

6:20 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a report of an alcohol violation. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:50 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main Campus Grounds. An incident of mischievous conduct was referred to the Office of Student Development.

8:45 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a report of students blocking the road. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:20 a.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Main Campus Grounds. Students were engaged in an unsafe activity involving a wheelchair. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Beta Theta Pi. A hallway and door were spray painted.

11:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. A slingshot was confiscated from a student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:55 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Campbell House. A student was observed with opened alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

3:25 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Post Hall. A window in a Post stairwell was broken. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

4 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. The interior of the Tau Kappa Epsilon house was damaged with spray paint.

4:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burned food.

6:05 p.m. MEDICAL, Neifert Hall. A student reported injuring their ankle. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:30 p.m. MEDICAL, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a report that a student had fainted. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 27

12:25 a.m. NOISE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

11:29 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a malfunctioning detector that had been covered. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 28

5 p.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Fleming Fieldhouse. A car window was broken by a foul ball.

10:50 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Sigma Nu- 556 S. West. An air rifle was confiscated after Campus Safety Officers observed a student shooting it in the direction of West Street. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:50 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A power cord was cut on a vending machine.

APRIL 29

3:45 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Main Campus Grounds. A brief power outage caused the fire alarm system in the quads to go into line trouble.

4:08 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. A trouble alarm was activated by a power supply problem within the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

APRIL 30

2:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

MAY 1

12:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a pull station. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

12:08 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Hamblin Hall. Public Safety Building reported a 911 call from the emergency phone in the Hamblin lot. The area was checked and no problems were found.

4:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

8:30 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, George Davis Hall. Cannabis and smoking accessories were confiscated from a student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MAY 2

12:15 a.m. INTOXICATED SUBJECT, Post Hall. An intoxicated student was assisted back to their residence hall. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of fireworks being set off.

12:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 284 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a smoke detector in the common room. No cause was found for the alarm activation.

12:45 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Beta Theta Pi. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a disturbance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:55 a.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Beta Theta Pi. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a complaint of two subjects causing a disturbance. One subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:15 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services and Campus Safety responded to a report of a highly intoxicated subject. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a discharged fire extinguisher.

2:10 a.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported losing her purse.

2:50 a.m. NOISE, 284 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

DISTURBANCE, 284 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responding to a noise complaint intervened in a dispute between two students. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:24 a.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of trash cans being dumped in the stairwell.

3:35 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of a head injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2 p.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A student was transported for the treatment of a knee injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MAY 4

1 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Assistance was requested by an advisor in contacting a student.

MAY 5

9:19 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. Public Safety Building reported line trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.
