Third place finish

Knox’s men’s golf team took a third place finish in the Midwest Conference team meet, finishing with a three-day total of 960, four shots behind second place Carroll University. Monmouth College took the event with a three-day team total of 934.

For Knox, senior Kevin Foerster emerged as the leader that head coach Rob Purlee knew he could be.

“Kevin Foerster ends up making the all conference team … just a great way for him to finish his career, and he’s probably going to make Academic All-American, which is great in itself,” Purlee said about the highlights of the weekend.

With rounds of 79-80-75, Foerster finished with a 234 total, good for a tie for fourth place among all golfers in the Midwest Conference.

Sophomore Bobby Steubi solidified his status as the program’s future with his second straight all-conference bid. Steubi’s third round 74 was the best one-round showing of any Knox golfer, and his three rounds of 79-83-74 (236) placed him in the top ten (seventh) for the second consecutive year, as well.
