Writer and political analyst Leslie Sanchez speaks about the treatment of women and Latinos in American politics today. She started the speech with an anecdote about her past struggles, relating those to the obstacles of the Latino community in the US. Sanchez spoke of Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama, citing each as a positive female role model, but she also noted the lack of Latina political figures in Washington today. The event was sponsored by the Office of Student Development, TRIO Achievement Program, Center for Intercultural Life, Office of Public Relations and Panhellenic Council.
