Let’s get this party started!

Black light party? Roller skate night? You may have heard of these campus-wide events during the past two weeks, but who exactly is behind all the fun and games?

Along with a small committee of student representatives, the newly appointed head advisor, Jil Gates, is the master behind Union Board. Before arriving at Knox this fall, Gates worked with residential life for two years at another college before teaching seventh grade in Dickson, IL.

In facilitating the start of a new era of campus-wide events, Gates envisions activities that will appeal to everyone on campus. Although not every event will appeal to each student’s tastes, she “hope[s] to have at least one event per year that will attract every student on campus.”
