Campus Safety Log: Oct. 6-10

OCTOBER 6

12:55 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety checked on the well-being of a student at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:30 a.m. POWER FAILURE, Main Campus. Power on campus went out for approximately 15 minutes.

3:45 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Knox Jail. Campus Safety was called regarding a dispute between two students. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. ADT reported trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:55 p.m. INFORMATION, Drew House. Campus Safety received a report of a suspicious person in the area of 516 S. West.

OCTOBER 7

12:05 a.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. The Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service and Campus Safety responded to the Gizmo Patio where a student was having an allergic reaction. The student was taken by ambulance for treatment.

5:03 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Seymour Hall. A sign belonging to a local business was found in a student’s room by a Campus Safety Officer there about another matter.

OCTOBER 8

2:40 a.m. MEDICAL, Sellew House. A student was transported to the Cottage Hospital ER for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Furrow House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a hair straightener.

11:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm caused by a student smoking in his room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 9

7:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a hallway fire alarm. No cause was found for the activation.

10 a.m. INFORMATION, Delta Delta Delta Lodge. Maintenance was called to repair the water heater and a work order was submitted.

10:45 a.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of a person injured after tripping over a crack in the sidewalk.

3:50 p.m. MEDICAL, Knosher Bowl. A person was transported for treatment after stepping on broken glass.

10:45 p.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. Subject was transported to the Cottage Hospital ER to be treated for overconsumption of alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:45 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Post Hall. Campus Safety received a report of a door damaged by a student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 10

12:30 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Post Hall. Campus Safety received a report of a suspicious incident.

12:40 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Elder House. Underage consumption of alcohol was found. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:40 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Beta Theta Pi. The Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a complaint of a disturbance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:15 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR/WINDOW, Elder House. A Campus Safety Officer on patrol found an unsecured door.

1:05 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Memorial Gym. Campus Safety received a complaint of a mouse in the pool. The mouse was removed.
