Campus Safety Log: Nov. 9-14

NOVEMBER 9

10:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus safety responded to a fire alarm activated by someone smoking in the house. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 10

9:10 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Tri Delta. The Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of a suspicious person trying to enter through the back door.

NOVEMBER 11

1:35 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall. Underage consumption of alcohol was reported and the matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 12

7:35 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 697 S. West. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

8:18 a.m. FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, 697 S. West. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted.

12:49 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Sellew House. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang up call from a student room. No problems were found.

NOVEMBER 13

6:21 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 247 W. Knox. The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

7 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Knosher Bowl. Tables moved onto the field from the concession stand area.

11:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Simonds Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a hair straightening iron.

NOVEMBER 14

12:15 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of two subjects fighting on the east side of Post.

3:05 a.m. WELLBEING CHECK, Seymour Hall. A visitor’s wellbeing was checked at the request of a student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:10 a.m. 911 HANG UP, Sellew. The Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an accidental 911 call.

5:34 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR/BUILDING, Seymour Hall. An unsecured door was reported. 

7:25 a.m. POWER FAILURE, Main Campus Grounds. Power was out to east side of campus for approximately two hours. 

5:10 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Science and Math Center. Campus Safety received a report of a subject attempting to break in to a vehicle. No one found in the area matched the description given.

7:30 p.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Post Hall. Campus Safety checked on the well-being of a student at another student’s request. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:25 p.m. MEDICAL, 251 S. West. A student was transported to St. Mary’s ER for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 15

12:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety was receiving false alarms from the automated dialer for fire alarm system. A work order was submitted.

8:26 a.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was transported for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.
