Campus Safety Log: Jan. 2-9

JANUARY 2

2:40 a.m. INFORMATION, Williston Hall. Maintenance was called in to repair the entrance door lock.

11 p.m. INFORMATION, West and Tompkins. An unknown Hispanic male displayed a knife to a student. No verbal statement regarding intent was made to the student.

11:05 p.m. THREATS, Main Campus Grounds.

JANUARY 3

5:20 p.m. INFORMATION, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety was informed of possible domestic problems.

JANUARY 4

2:50 p.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, Fleming Fieldhouse. Vehicle damage was reported.

3:28 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Seymour Hall. A candle was burning in a student room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Hall. A domestic problem was reported. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 5

7:10 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR/BUILDING, Williston Hall. A storage case in the basement was found unlocked.

11:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House – 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burnt food.

9:15 p.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, Hamblin Hall. A student reported that his vehicle had been struck by another vehicle sometime within the last three to four weeks.

10:42 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Campbell House. Cannabis was found in a common area. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 6

12:15 a.m. NOISE, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

5:20 p.m. INFORMATION, Memorial Gym. A lock was cut off a locker at the request of its owner.

5:52 p.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Library. A report was received of checks stolen.

JANUARY 7

12:10 a.m. NOISE, Williston Hall. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a carbon monoxide detector.

11:02 p.m. MISCHIEVIOUS CONDUCT, Post Hall. A student was observed tampering with a vehicle. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 8

12:30 a.m. NOISE, 516 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:55 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Neifert Hall. Campus Safety checked on the well-being of a student at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:40 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Post Hall. Campus Safety checked on the well-being of a student at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Post Hall. Underage drinking. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 9

10:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 542 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burnt food.

JANUARY 10

9:09 a.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Hamblin Hall. Officers responding to an alarm found a covered smoke detector and a candle burning in a suite common area. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:32 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm.
