Campus Safety Log: Jan. 18-24

JANUARY 18

12:30 p.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A student was transported for treatment after slipping on ice. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 19

12:52 a.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety checked on the well being of a student at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

12 p.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Union. Attempt to locate.

JANUARY 20

4 p.m. INFORMATION, ASC – 368 S. Prairie. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

11:55 p.m. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on the well being of a student after a report of a suicide attempt. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 21

10:55 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services and Campus Safety responded to a suite in Post, where a student suffered a head injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 22

3:40 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Main Campus Grounds. A gas valve marker was removed.

11:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a curling iron.

8 p.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A student was transported for the treatment of an ankle injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:18 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a dirty smoke detector.

JANUARY 23

12:55 a.m. MEDICAL, Williston Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of a leg injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:15 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Sigma Chi – 616 S. West. Campus Safety observed intoxication.

3:15 a.m. CRIMINAL TRESPASS, Knosher Bowl. Two suspicious subjects were reported inside the Knosher Bowl.

3:45 a.m. NOISE, Hamblin Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects.

7:40 a.m. MEDICAL, Drew House. A student was transported to St. Mary’s Emergency Room for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:50 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by dust from a vacuum.

3:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:10 p.m. 911 HANG-UP, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Public Safety Building received a 911 hang-up from a student. Police service was not needed.

JANUARY 24

10:03 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a detector malfunction.

11:10 a.m. MEDICAL, Auxillary Gym. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services and Campus Safety responded to the report of a possible broken arm. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.
