Campus Safety Log: Jan. 11-Feb. 6

ANUARY 11

1:20 a.m. NOISE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 24

8:05 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on the well being of a student at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 25

6:55 p.m. FIRE ALARM, International House – 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

10:08 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a dirty detector.

JANUARY 26

1 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by humidifier vapor.

8:55 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Main Campus Grounds. Student found with cannabis in their possession. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:18 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi – 616 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

JANUARY 27

11 a.m. THREATS, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of a subject making threatening statements.

JANUARY 28

11:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, T. Fleming Fieldhouse. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by dust from a worker cleaning in the area.

9:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

JANUARY 29

2 a.m. NOISE, Conger. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

8:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by smoking in a student’s room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 30

12:10 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Post Hall. Campus Safety checked on a report of an intoxicated subject and found the subject to be underage. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:06 a.m. SAFEETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. Campus Safety responded to a report of glass bottles being thrown out of a third floor window. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:50 a.m. THREATS, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of a subject making threatening statements.

2:55 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

2:45 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Raub House. Campus Safety checked on the well being of a student at the request of a family member.

2:50 p.m. INFORMATION, Sellew House. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

FEBRUARY 1

12:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, ABLE House – 168 W. Tompkins. Weak fire alarm back-up batteries caused the alarm panel to sound a trouble alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

4:35 a.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Hall. Mulch that was smoldering from a discarded cigarette was extinguished.

7 a.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety and Galesburg Fire Department responded to assist a student who was having health related problems.

1:30 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. A student was transported to Cottage Hospital for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:35 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Post Hall. The alarm system sounded a trouble alarm that was believed to be weather related.

6:25 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 247 W. Knox. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

6:32 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Seymour Hall. A window was broken. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a pull station.

7:48 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a power surge.

11:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

FEBRUARY 3

2:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Peterson House. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

6:20 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A student was transported to Cottage Emergency Room for treatment.

FEBRUARY 4

6:20 p.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. A student was injured after slipping on ice.

FEBRUARY 5

4:05 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Chi – 616 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

5:49 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Post Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a malfunctioning detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

8:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Neal. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

FEBRUARY 6

2:50 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Peterson House. Officers on routine patrol observed a disturbance in progress.
