Campus Safety Log: April 3-11

APRIL 3

1:30 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A report was received regarding a dispute among students. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 4

1:55 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a tea kettle.

APRIL 5

12:06 a.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

7:30 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A leather jacket left in a lab was returned to its owner.

4:08 p.m. INFORMATION, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a report of smoking in the building.

10:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a detector in the common area. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

APRIL 6

1 p.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. Information was received regarding a possible security issue.

1:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 260 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a hallway detector.

5 p.m. POWER OUTAGE, Main Campus Grounds. A brief power outage caused trouble alarms to be activated across campus.

11:50 p.m. NOISE, Williston. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

APRIL 7

6:05 a.m. WATER LEAK, Old Main. A basement pipe had a water leak. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

APRIL 8

5:10 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, George Davis Hall. A wallet left in a classroom was turned in to Campus Safety.

APRIL 9

3:36 p.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a malfunction in the sytem. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

APRIL 10

12:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by steam from a shower.

2:02 a.m. INFORMATION, Off-Campus Location. Galesburg Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance at Quick Sam’s.

2:35 a.m. FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to the area of the Quad after observing fireworks being set off.

APRIL 11

5:15 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Beta House. Campus Safety responded that a bike reported missing over the summer was chained to a railing at the Beta House.
