Campus Safety Log: April 10-May 3

APRIL 10

2 a.m. DOMESTIC, Conger. Campus Safety received a report of a domestic dispute. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 26

7:45 a.m. INFORMATION, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A vehicle damaged the grass and a tree in the traffic circle.

10:23 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

7:06 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. A report was received that people not associated with the college were dumping trash into a college dumpster.

9:10 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by steam from a shower.

11:03 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main Campus Grounds. The ground in the area of Conger-Neal was damaged by digging. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 27

4:35 a.m. INFORMATION, Hamblin. Officers observed students planning for a Flunk Day scare. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:05 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Conger. Officers responded to a complaint of water balloons being thrown out of a second floor window. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 28

12:20 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Peterson House. Campus Safety responded to a report of a trouble alarm going off.

6 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by students smoking in a room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 29

3:30 a.m. BURGLARY, Tau Kappa Epsilon House. A student reported the theft of liquor that was valued at $150.

12:30 p.m. MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, South and West Street. A student hit by a car while crossing the street received minor injuries.

7:52 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 516 S. West. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

10:08 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Raub. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

APRIL 30

10:20 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Seymour Hall. A window was broken when a folding table was kicked in to it.

MAY 1

1:15 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Post Hall. Found property was turned into Campus Safety and returned to its owner.

1:45 a.m. MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Off-campus location. Campus Safety assisted in location a person involved in a motor vehicle accident just off campus.

3 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Main Campus Grounds. An officer on patrol noticed two subjects tipping trash cans over near the Beta House. Both were identified as students. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, Phi Gamma Delta, 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, Phi Gamma Delta- 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by students smoking in a room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, Phi Gamma Delta, 218 S. Cedar. A pipe believed to have cannabis residue was confiscated from a student room during a fire alarm building check. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11 a.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Peterson House. A window was damaged by high wind. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

12:02 p.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a malfunction in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

MAY 2

6:50 a.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A student refused treatment for a knee injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:15 a.m. PUBLIC INDECENCY, Simonds. A subject was observed urinating in public. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:45 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Neifert. A window was accidentally broken. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:25 a.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of an unwanted subject. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:05 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report regarding possible harassment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:55 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Seymour Hall. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety resounded to a fire alarm activated by a pull station. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:15 p.m. DISTURBANCE, Post Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a disturbance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MAY 3

12:39 a.m. THREATS, Conger. Campus Safety responded to a report of threats. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.
