Campus Safety Log: Oct. 2-9

OCTOBER 2

2:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, 265 S. Academy. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a malfunction in the system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

OCTOBER 3

Time unavailable. SEXUAL ASSAULT, Off-campus location. Campus Safety responded to a report of unwanted sexual contact between two people. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:50 a.m. INFORMATION, George Davis Hall. A clock was reported missing from a classroom.

10:05 a.m. MEDICAL, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety responded to a report of a student with an ankle injury.

6 p.m. DISTURBANCE, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A student reported that a red Ford Explorer followed her on South Academy. Two white male subjects in the vehicle made lewd comments.

9:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Seymour Hall. A student was referred to Health Services.

OCTOBER 4

4:08 p.m. LOST OR MISPLACED ITEM, Old Main. A diamond ring with a silver band was reported lost or missing.

8:30 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. A student reported being harassed by a male subject from off-campus on the sidewalk running west of the Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center.

OCTOBER 5

1:45 p.m. MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. A car was backed into and damaged.

5:12 p.m. MEDICAL, Casa Latina. A student was transported for the treatment of an illness. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

6:36 p.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Fleming Fieldhouse. A small bicycle was found behind the gym.

9:45 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Seymour Hall. Doors were found unsecured during a routine patrol.

OCTOBER 6

12:30 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main Campus Grounds. A small fire was set on a grill in an area of the quad.

11:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, George Davis Hall. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a hallway detector.

8:20 p.m. MEDICAL, Campbell. A student was transported for treatment of an illness. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 7

3:38 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Neifert. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a hallway detector.

10:46 a.m. INFORMATION, 260 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety received a complaint of a subject rummaging through the recycling area.

2:15 p.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A visitor was treated for an ankle injury.

OCTOBER 8

1:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

5:32 a.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

9 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Williston. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

11:50 p.m. WELL BEING CHECK, Raub. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCTOBER 9

1:10 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety received a report of subjects taking a tire from the back of a pick-up truck. The tire was recovered in the Quad.

7:25 a.m. INFORMATION, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A propped door was reported by a staff member.

8:30 a.m. POWER OUTAGE, Main Campus Grounds. A brief power outage occurred over a large area of the campus.
