Campus Safety Log: Oct. 22-Nov. 8

OCTOBER 22

4 a.m. INFORMATION, Main Campus Grounds. A report was received regarding a possible violation of campus policy and/or the law. The matter was resolved.

OCTOBER 23

11:56 a.m. INFORMATION, Off-campus location. A report was received of an off-campus incident possibly involving a Knox student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 2

4:30 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Conger. A fire door locking mechanism was tampered with. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

NOVEMBER 3

1:50 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Neifert. A trouble alarm was activated when a detector was tampered with. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

5:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Ford Center for the Fine Arts. A digital camcorder mounted to an elevator for an art project was removed. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

8:34 p.m. POWER OUTAGE, Seymour Hall. Power was lost to a student’s room. The breaker was reset.

9:32 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Main Campus Grounds. Public Safety Building reported getting a 911 hang-up call from a student cell phone. The number was dialed by mistake.

NOVEMBER 4

10:55 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Main Campus Grounds. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up call from the emergency phone east of Post. No problems were found in the area.

NOVEMBER 5

1:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Knosher Bowl. Public Safety Building and Campus Safety found a student in the area of Knosher Bowl. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:30 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

9:12 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Main Campus Grounds. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of a window broken out of a car parked in the lot by the soccer field.

10:13 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 6

12:20 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Intercultural Center. A large window was broken when a bottle was thrown through it. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

1:15 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, 251 S. West. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well-being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:10 a.m. 911 HANG UP, Off-campus location. Public Safety reported getting a 911 hang-up call from a student cell phone. The number was dialed by mistake.

4:50 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported by ambulance for the treatment of an illness.

NOVEMBER 7

10:19 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 8

1:25 p.m. INFORMATION, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A report was received regarding missing equipment.
