Campus Safety Log: Nov. 4-13

NOVEMBER 4

9:55 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, George Davis Hall. Campus Safety Officers on patrol found students with open alcohol in the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 8

12:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Conger. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

4:35 p.m. FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of fireworks being set off by the Intercultural Center.

NOVEMBER 10

7:55 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Furrow. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

12:10 p.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, Fleming Fieldhouse. The Galesburg Police Department was contacted regarding a car that was backed into.

11:59 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

NOVEMBER 11

8:02 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned popcorn.

9:15 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, George Davis Hall. Campus Safety Officers on patrol found students with open alcohol in the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:27 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of someone painting profane words on the fence by the Intercultural Center. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10:16 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Furrow. A room’s smoke detector was covered. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:55 P.M. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, George Davis Hall. Campus Safety Officers on patrol found students with open alcohol in the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 12

2:45 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Conger. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:50 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

2:55 a.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Longden. A fire extinguisher was discharged in the suite common area.

3:10 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

6 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

5:03 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety received a report of a suspicious person in the area of Seymour Hall. Campus buildings and grounds were checked for the subject.

8:40 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Library. A suspicious person was reported in the area.

9:40 p.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Main Campus Grounds. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well-being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:10 p.m. 911 HANG-UP, Sellew. Public Safety Building reported to a 911 hang-up call from the outside phone at Sellew. No problems were found in the area.

NOVEMBER 13

12:15 a.m. 911 HANG-UP, Hamblin. Public Safety Building reported getting a 911 hang-up call from a student cell phone. The number was dialed by mistake.

12:30 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to a report of subjects reaching into a vehicle on Cedar Street who fled when approached.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Seymour Hall. A water fountain was damaged. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:50 a.m. POWER OUTAGE, Main Campus Grounds. Power was briefly lost to numerous campus buildings due to windy conditions.

10 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Seymour Hall. A bike was found outside of Seymour Hall and its owner contacted.

5:20 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

9 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Drew. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.
