NOVEMBER 14

3:52 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Hall. A suspicious incident was reported to Campus Safety.

NOVEMBER 15

11:20 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Hamblin. A suspicious person was reported in the area.

NOVEMBER 17

4:24 p.m. UNWANTED SUBJECT, Seymour Hall. A Galesburg resident asking students for money was cited for a city ordinance violation by the Galesburg Police Department.

NOVEMBER 18

12:15 a.m. INFORMATION, 697 S. West. Carbon monoxide detector batteries were changed.

9:31 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 516 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by steam from a shower.

7:42 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

8 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

NOVEMBER 19

6:08 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Sigma Nu. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well-being at the request of another student. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:25 p.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Old Main. A conference table was damaged. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

NOVEMBER 20

3:50 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Seymour Hall. A cell phone was turned in to Campus Safety.

4:06 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Elder. Suspicious subjects were reported in the area of the bike racks.

7 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Williston. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of a strong marijuana smell. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 21

2 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 240 W. Tompkins. A door was found damaged when a student returned to their room.

2:46 911 HANG UP, 461 S. West. Public Safety Building reported a 911 hang-up from 461 S. West. No problems were found in the area.

9:25 a.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Conger. A smoke detector was covered in a student room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:19 a.m. NOISE, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

12:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Simonds. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by smoking in a student room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 22

9:30 p.m. SAFETY CONCERN/HAZARD, Drew. A smoke detector was covered in a student room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

NOVEMBER 23

6:22 a.m. INFORMATION, George Davis Hall. Trash cans were dumped out on the floor in a rest room.

7 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall. An intoxicated student was causing problems on the shuttle. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:06 p.m. FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Neal. Fireworks were confiscated during a room inspection. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5 p.m. INFORMATION. Suspicious activity was reported.

5:40 p.m. THEFT, Neifert. A student reported a stolen bike.

NOVEMBER 24

4:59 a.m. INFORMATION, Hamblin. A carbon monoxide detector was going off.

8:40 a.m. INFORMATION, Knosher Bowl. Equipment was tampered with.

NOVEMBER 25

9:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by dust from cleaning.

NOVEMBER 26

4:20 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Campus Safety and Galesburg Police Department responded to a report of a subject entering the house through a first-floor window.

NOVEMBER 27

3:28 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by cooking.

NOVEMBER 29

9 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Umbeck Mathematics and Science Center. Campus Safety responded to a trouble alarm activated by contractors working in the building.

4 p.m. INFORMATION, Off-campus location. Galesburg Police Department requested a video of a reported battery at Quick Sam’s.

NOVEMBER 30

9:05 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Seymour Hall. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well-being at the request of a family member.

DECEMBER 1

9:40 p.m. INFORMATION, Off-campus location. Theft of a college cell phone was reported.

DECEMBER 2

4:18 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Seymour Hall. Unsecured doors were found during a building check.

DECEMBER 5

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Sherwin. A bike was reported stolen by a student.

DECEMBER 7

1:30 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Fleming Fieldhouse. A stone from a ring was found and turned in to Campus Safety.

DECEMBER 8

10 a.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Phi Gamma Delta – 218 S. Cedar. Information was received regarding an ongoing problem with dogs being kept on campus. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:40 p.m. INFORMATION, ASC – 368 S. Prairie. Maintenance was called in to repair a freezer. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

DECEMBER 15

5:05 a.m. INFORMATION, Old Main. The pump alarm in the basement went off. Maintenance was called in.

DECEMBER 17

11:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, International house – 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by cooking.

DECEMBER 20

3:24 a.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. A cable locator was taken from the area by Beta House. It was later recovered by the Galesburg Police Department.

DECEMBER 21

2:50 a.m. MEDICAL, International House – 418 S. West. A student was transported for the treatment of an illness. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

DECEMBER 24

3:28 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by cooking.

DECEMBER 28

8 a.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. A tree was cut down and taken near the parking lot of the Fleming Fieldhouse.

11:28 a.m. INFORMATION, George Davis Hall. A sink was missing from renovation of the second floor lounge.

1:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 270 W. Tompkins. A fire alarm was activated during a change of an electrical meter.

9:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 530 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by cooking.

JANUARY 1

1:30 a.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Umbeck Mathematics and Science Center. A trouble alarm went off in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:31 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Beta House.

7:45 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House – 418 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by cooking.

9:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department, Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by steam from the shower.

10:20 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sherwin. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

11:04 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by cooking.

8:50 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall. A student was observed with open alcohol in public. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 5

2:14 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sigma Nu. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

7:07 p.m. INFORMATION, Fleming Fieldhouse. An unauthorized use complaint was received.

JANUARY 6

12:25 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

11:06 a.m. PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT, W. Berrien St. – 200 block. A driver’s side mirror was broken off by another vehicle.

12:45 p.m. MEDICAL, 284 W. Tompkins. A student was transported by ambulance for treatment of an illness. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

9:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a steam machine.

JANUARY 7

10:44 a.m. WELL-BEING CHECK, Main Campus Ground. Campus Safety checked on a student’s well-being at the request of a family member. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 8

1:45 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Sigma Chi. Assistance was requested with an intoxicated subject. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:40 p.m. NOISE, Furrow. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

7:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Sellew. A bottle was broken in a stairwell and a vacuum was damaged.

JANUARY 9

12:47 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Campbell. Campus Safety responded to a report of a disturbance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

12:58 a.m. POWER OUTAGE, Seymour Hall. A circuit breaker was reset after a loss of power.
