Campus Safety Log: Jan. 6-16

JANUARY 6

2 p.m. BATTERY, 265 S. Academy – Quick Sam’s. The Galesburg Police Department requested a video of a reported battery at Quick Sam’s.

JANUARY 8

9:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by dust from cleaning.

JANUARY 9

1 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Borzello Hall. Graffiti was found on an exterior door.

2:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a room detector. No apparent cause was found for the alarm activation.

3 p.m. INFORMATION, 284 W. Tompkins. A student was contacted at the request of Student Development.

8:15 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by smoking in a student room. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 10

3 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Intercultural Center. Campus Safety Officers found an unsecured door during a routine building check.

11:23 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 270 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm, possibly activated by an air freshener.

1:02 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.

7:50 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Beta House. ADT reported trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 11

3:05 p.m. INFORMATION, Sherwin. A student engaged in an unsafe activity was asked to stop. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:30 a.m. NOISE, Neal. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:05 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Borzello Hall. Campus Safety Officers found an unsecured door during a routine building check.

JANUARY 14

12:25 p.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of an illness. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Conger. A light fixture and bulbs were broken in basement hallways.

JANUARY 15

12:15 a.m. MEDICAL, Post Hall. A student was transported for the treatment of an injury. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:25 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Drew. An unauthorized party with alcohol was in progress when officers responded to another complaint. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 16

7:15 a.m. MEDICAL, Main Campus Grounds. A staff member was injured after slipping on ice.

8:35 p.m. THEFT, Main Campus Grounds. Knox College anniversary banners were taken from light poles in the area of South West and West Berrien.
