Blues and R&B singer Etta James passed away from leukemia last Friday. A six-time Grammy winner and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, her music included the hits “At Last” and “The Wallflower.” Rev. Al Sharpton will perform funeral services for James, who was 73. Source: CNN

Nominations for the 84th annual Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, with “Hugo” receiving 11 nominations, including Best Picture; the silent film “The Artist” received ten nominations and “The Descendent” five. Citing “irreconcilable differences,” musician Seal and supermodel and “Project Runway” host Heidi Klum announced on Monday that they would be getting a divorce. YouTube, an online-video website owned by Google, is now streaming four billion videos per day. This is a 25 percent increase in the last eight months alone; the company estimates that 60 hours of video are being uploaded by users every minute. Source: Reuters
