Campus Safety Log: Jan. 17-22

JANUARY 17

9:20 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 265 S. Academy. A student reported hearing a person by the back door and then saw them leave the area and head north.

10:35 p.m. FIREWORKS COMPLAINT, Sellew. An officer responding to a noise complaint observed a bottle rocket being fired out of a room window. The fireworks were confiscated and the matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 18

6:37 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Main Campus Grounds. Public Safety Building reported a hang up call from the emergency phone by the track. The area was checked and no problems were found.

10:50 p.m. NOISE, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud music.

11:35 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Umbeck Science and Mathematics Center. A door was found unsecured during a building check.

JANUARY 20

5:40 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Neal. Campus Safety Officers responding to a fire alarm found a substance believed to be cannabis during a check of the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

JANUARY 21

1:37 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated when a fire extinguisher was discharged in the basement laundry room.

2 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Sellew. Furniture was broken and trash was scattered over the common area of a suite. Evidence was found of a party with alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:40 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Post Hall. A student was observed with open alcohol in the building. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:50 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a dirty detector. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

JANUARY 22

12:40 a.m. MEDICAL, Beta House. A student was transported for the treatment of overconsumption of alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4:15 p.m. CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Kappa Kappa Gamma House. The front of the house was egged and a planter was damaged.

9 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 697 S. West. Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by burned food.
