JANUARY 9

8 p.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Fleming Fieldhouse. An officer document accidental damage to a student’s property. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

FEBRUARY 25

2 p.m. INJURY, Knox Bowl. Officers documented an injury to a student during a kickball game. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

FEBRUARY 27

5 a.m. INFORMATION, Warehouse Door. An unconfirmed report was received regarding attempted entry or damage to a warehouse door. The area was checked and no problems were found.

FEBRUARY 28

2:25 a.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Borzello Hall. During a security check, Campus Safety Officers (CSO) located an unsecured door. The building was checked and no problems were found.

5:30 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Seymour Hall. Public Safety Building (PSB) received a 911 call accidentally dialed from a student’s phone. No problems were found.

FEBRUARY 29

1:05 a.m. MEDICAL ASSIST, Seymour Hall stairwell. CSO, Galesburg Police Department (GPD) and Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Services (GHAS) responded to a report that a student had fallen on the stairs. The student was transported for treatment.

5:46 a.m. FIRE MALFUNCTION, 240, 284 W. Tompkins. A trouble alarm was noted from the fire alarm system and/or the ADT monitoring system.

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Old Main. A mailing was received from an unknown party expressing unhappiness with the higher education process.

MARCH 1

2:35 a.m. 911 HANG UP, Beta Theta Pi. PSB received an accidental 911 call dialed from a student phone. The area was checked and no problems were found.

7:50 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm panel activation. No problems were found and the system was re-set.

4:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, George Davis Hall (GDH) WVKC radio station. Campus Safety responded to an alarm panel activation found to be caused by spray paint. The system was re-set.

MARCH 2

9:30 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm panel activation caused by a faulty detector. The system was re-set.

12:30 p.m. DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, Hamblin. Campus Safety responded to a report from the custodial staff regarding a scratch in the flooring and fire extinguisher pins that had been removed. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10:45 p.m. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE VIOLATION, Griffith House. CSO responded to a report of a loud noise and found evidence for the smoking of a controlled substance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

4 p.m. DECEPTIVE PRACTICE, Business Office. Officers documented an apparent fraud attempt using Knox account numbers. The data was forwarded to bank investigators.

MARCH 3

12:50 a.m. BROKEN WINDOWS, Beta Theta Pi. CSO noted two broken windows at the Beta Theta Pi House. House leadership confirmed they were aware of the problem and a work order was submitted.

FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Beta Theta Pi. ADT reported trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

2:20 a.m. 911 HANG UP, Main Campus Grounds. PSB received a 911 hang-up call from the emergency phone on the east side of Post. The area was checked and no problems were found.

12:07 p.m. MEDICAL ASSIST, Borzello Hall. PSB advised that GHAS had been dispatched the assist a Galesburg resident.

12:12 p.m. FIRE ALARM – MALFUNCTION, Beta Theta Pi. ADT reported trouble in the fire alarm system. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

3:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Longden House. Campus Safety responded to an alarm panel activation caused by sprayed cologne. The system was reset.

4 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety responded to an alarm panel activated caused by burnt food. The system was re-set.

4:02 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 386 S. Academy. Students reported hearing noise inside their house. The area was checked and no problems were found.

9:40 p.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall. A student was observed with an open alcohol container. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:40 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Main Campus Grounds. CSO advised of a person possible following students on S. Cedar St. The suspect was located and removed.

MARCH 4

3:30 a.m. VEHICULAR DAMAGE, West Tomkins. Campus Safety advised that student’s vehicle had damage from another vehicle. The GPD were contacted and a report was filed.

MARCH 6

10:20 a.m. POWER OUTAGES, Main Campus Grounds. CSO responded to numerous ADT and fire alarm caused by power outages. Power outages were caused by high winds.

10:30 a.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Seymour Library. Officers responded to a report of a non-student attempting to location a student on campus. Contact was made and no problems were found.

8 p.m. INFORMATION, Furrow House. Officers responded to a report of smoking. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:20 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi House. ADT reported a fire alarm at Beta Theta Pi. A smell of smoke, possibly cannabis, was present. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 7

12:29 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi House. PSB reported a fire alarm at Beta Theta Pi. No problems were found.

11:55 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main Campus Grounds. CSO responded to a report of a dead animal on the south side of Seymour Hall. The animal was removed.

MARCH 8

1:55 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin. ADT reported a fire alarm at Hamblin Hall caused by overcooked food.

MARCH 9

11 p.m. FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, Sherwin Hall. CSO responded to a smoke detector activation. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:20 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Post Hall. Officers responded to a smoke detector activation and determined that a detector had been covered while burning incense. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 10

5 a.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, SMC. CSO responded to a report of broken glass in the roadway. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

MARCH 11

12:40 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Neal House. Officers responded to a pull station activation. No fire issues were noted. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Sellew House. CSO responded to a smoke detector activation. The area was checked and no problems were found.

MARCH 13

11:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, International House. ADT reported a fire alarm at the International House due to overcooked food.

MARCH 14

7:15 a.m. INFORMATION, Beta Theta Pi house. Facilities noted a broken window and spilled paint at the Beta Theta Pi house. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

2 p.m. INFORMATION, Off-Campus location. CSO were advised of possible illegal activity off-campus involving a community member.

MARCH 19

1:155 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. Campus Safety responded to an alarm activation caused by room freshener spray. The alarm was reset.

8 a.m. FOUND PROPERTY, Alumni Hall. CSO located an open door and keys to Alumni Hall. The keys were returned to inventory.

3 p.m. THEFT, Post Hall. CSO documented the apparent theft of a bird house from a tree in Post Hall.

3:15 p.m. ANIMAL COMPLAINT, Post Hall. CSO responded to a report of a bat in the Outpost store.

3:30 p.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Baseball Field. CSO were notified of damage to a car parked near the field.

3:35 INFORMATION, 586 W. Brooks. Campus Safety was advised of an ongoing investigation off-campus regarding gunshot damage to property. The matter was referred to the GPD.

11:30 p.m. INFORMATION, Off-campus location. Campus Safety was contacted by GPD for assistance in locating a community member.

MARCH 20

INFORMATION, 516 S. West. Officers responded to a report of possible water damage to property.

8:12 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Post. PSB reported an accidental 911 call.

9:15 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety was advised by ADT of a trouble alarm. No problems were found. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

9:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Capus Safety was advised by ADT of a trouble alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

MARCH 21

10:10 a.m. MEDICAL ASSIST, GDH. CSO were advised of a person ill in GDH. The person was located and transported to Health Services.

8:15 p.m. 911 HANG UP, Post Hall. Officers were advised of a 911 hang-up from an emergency telephone. The area was checked and no problems were found.

9 p.m. INFORMATION, Griffith House. Officers were advised of a person ill in Griffith House. The person was transported by ambulance for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 22

10:35 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. A fire alarm occurred at Elder House; the alarm was reset. Two residents did not evacuate and the matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 23

6:40 p.m. SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, 260 W. Tompkins. CSO received a report of cannabis smoke. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

7:09 p.m. NOISE, Neal House. Campus Safety received a complaint of loud music. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 270 W. Tompkins. ADT advised of a fire alarm. The alarm was reset.

11:50 p.m. NOISE COMPLAINT, 516 S. West. Officers responded to a noise complain and discovered underage students with open alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 24

12 a.m. NOISE COMPLAINT, 616 S. West. CSO and GPD were advised of a noise complaint at a registered party. The sponsors elected to close the party. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:45 a.m. NOISE COMPLAINT, 697 S. West. CSO and GPD were advised of a noise complaint at a registered party. The windows were closed and the noise level was reduced. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

2:40 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 418 s. West. ADT advised of a fire alarm due to burned food. The alarm was reset. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 25

12:15 a.m. NOISE COMPLAINT, 218 S. Cedar. Officers received a noise complaint. The area was checked and no problems were found.

1:10 a.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Sherwin Hall. Officers noted evidence of cannabis. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:40 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Main Campus Grounds. CSO were requested to assist with a medical issue and determined the person in question required transportation by ambulance. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

10:42 .m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. ADT advised Campus Safety of a fire alarm. The alarm was reset.

6 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 240 W. Tompkins. Campus Safety was advised of an active smoke detector.

6:15 p.m. MEDICAL, Ford Center for the Fine Art. Officers received a request for assistance and located a professor in need of medical assistance. An ambulance was contacted.

MARCH 26

3:03 a.m. 911 HANG UP, 218 S. Cedar. 911 HANG UP, 218 S. Cedar. An accidental 911 call was made from a student’s phone.

6:30 p.m. ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, Seymour Hall. CSO noted a problem with a lock. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

11:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Hamblin. ADT advised Campus Safety of a fire alarm due to burned food.

MARCH 27

5:30 p.m. FIRE ALARM, Elder House. Campus Safety was advised of a fire alarm without a known cause. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

MARCH 28

6:45 p.m. FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. ADT advised of a fire alarm due to a dirty detector.

7:10 p.m. THEFT, GDH. Officers investigated a bike theft.

MARCH 29

7:05 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 215 S. West. ADT advised of a fire alarm due to a dirty detector.

MARCH 30

10:45 p.m. FIRE MALFUNCTION, Elder House. Campus Safety advised of a fire alarm activation and noted evidence of smoking. A work order was submitted. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11 p.m. FIRE, Neal House. Officers responding to a fire alarm discovered smoke and fire in a trash container. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

MARCH 31

1:30 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Conger Hall. Campus Safety responded to a noise complaint and found evidence of an unregistered party with alcohol. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

APRIL 1

1 a.m. ALCOHOL VIOLATION, S West. CSO observed six people with open alcohol on the sidewalk. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:25 a.m. DISTURBANCE, Beta Theta Pi. CSO noticed a disagreement between persons and intervened. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

1:55 a.m. POWER OUTAGE, Main Campus Grounds. CSO responded to a power outage due to storms in the area.

3:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Campbell House. CSO responded to a fire alarm and noted that pull station had been activated. No evidence of fire was noted. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:05 p.m. CANNABIS VIOLATION, Furrow. Officers responded to a cannabis smell. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

3:45 p.m. INFORMATION, Heating Plant. Officers responded to a boiler alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

FIRE ALARM, 251 S. West. ADT advised of a fire alarm due to a dirty detector.

5:40 p.m. TROUBLE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi House. Officers were contacted in reference to a trouble alarm. A work order was submitted to correct he problem.

APRIL 2

6:45 a.m. INFORMATION, Old Main. Officers were contacted regarding an item removed from the alumni room. The item was confirmed removed for a campus event.

APRIL 3

8:05 p.m. MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Longden House. CSO noted chalk drawings on the outer walls. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10:04 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, Seymour Hall. CSO noted an unlocked door. The door was secured.

APRIL 4

10:15 a.m. FIRE ALARM, Beta Theta Pi. ADT advised of a trouble alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

10:55 a.m. FIRE ALARM, 418 S. West. ADT advised of a trouble alarm. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.

8:12 p.m. INFORMATION, Sellew Hall. CSO responded to a dispute regarding property and conduct. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

11:40 p.m. UNSECURED DOOR, SMC. CSO noted a door unsecured. The door was secured.

11:53 p.m. WATER LEAK, SMC. CSO noted a water pipe break. A work order was submitted to correct the problem.
