GPD searches SMC for mischief

Galesburg police responded to the Sharvy G. Umbeck Math and Science Building around 1 a.m. Thursday after Campus Safety reported that two unknown subjects had discharged fire extinguishers there, according to the police report.

The Campus Safety officer reported that two white males wearing plaid shirts did the misdeed and may have been still in the building, so police searched it. They did not find anyone.

According to the report, the extinguisher discharge was a “nuisance,” but no damage was caused. Three GPD officers responded to the call.
