Campus Safety Log: Oct. 1 – Oct. 8

OCT. 1

12:55 p.m., MEDICAL, George Davis Hall — A student was transported to Health Services for treatment. The matter was referred to the Office of Student Development.

OCT. 2

3:22 p.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, main campus grounds — Campus Safety responded to a report of a suspicious person approaching female students and making comments of a sexual nature. The subject also attempted to touch or hug one of the students. The Galesburg Police Department was contacted, and the subject banned from campus. A campus alert was issued.

10:30 p.m., INFORMATION, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety responded to a report of someone smoking in the building.

OCT. 3

7:38 p.m., FIRE ALARM, 675 S. West St. — The Galesburg Fire Department and Campus Safety responded to an alarm activated by a hair straightener.

OCT. 4

12:05 p.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, main campus grounds — A female student was approached by a subject who made rude comments of a sexual nature and attempted to touch her on the arm. A campus alert was issued.

11:40 p.m., CRIMINAL DAMAGE, Hamblin Hall — The outside light by the north entrance door was broken.

OCT. 5

1:25 a.m., NOISE, Elder Hall — Campus Safety responded to a loud music complaint.

5:35 p.m., UNWANTED SUBJECT, main campus grounds — An intoxicated subject was arrested by GPD after causing a disturbance.

OCT 7

5:24 p.m., UNWANTED SUBJECT, 240 W. Tompkins St. — GPD and Campus Safety responded to a report of a subject harassing students and making threats. This subject had already been banned after an Oct. 2 incident and was arrested for criminal trespassing.

OCT 8

5:15 p.m., DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, Beta House — Items believed to be drug paraphernalia were confiscated during a fire drill. The matter was referred to OSD.
