“Tundun Lawani, Class of 2014, passed away on Sunday, October 28th near the intersection of South and West Streets. This is the third and most fatal incident that has happened in the last three years. We as a student body resolve that the appropriate actions be taken to instill and ensure the promotion of new traffic regulation and knowledge.”
During the meeting an additional $1,000 was approved for WVKC to cover expenses associated with the upcoming Coyote Kisses concert. Stipends for the Executive Committee were set at $400 per term, with committee chairs receiving $75 and first year chairs receiving $75.
Campus Life — Payment methods for washers and dryers will be voted on at the next meeting, Thursday, Nov. 7.
Technology — The additional purchased bandwidth has been installed and Internet speeds have improved.
Sustainability — A request for $683 from the Student Sustainability Fund was approved to cover unforeseen shipping costs of bikes for the bike share program.
Vice President’s report — Following special elections for the junior class, Melvin Taylor will replace Nicole Holtzman for winter and spring terms. Holtzman will be studying abroad.
Campus Diversity — How to cope with the classroom environment since the passing of Lawani was discussed.
Executive Committee — The trimester system was weighed against the potential of instituting a semester system, and discussion will continue.
