Campus safety log: Week of Jan. 8

Jan. 8

2:50 a.m., INFORMATION, main campus grounds — Campus Safety responded to a report of someone yelling in the area.
10:38 a.m., INFORMATION, Seymour Hall — Chairs were reported missing from the Taylor Student Lounge.

Jan. 9

10:16 p.m., NOISE, Hamblin Hall — Campus Safety responded to a complaint of loud subjects.

Jan. 10

7:15 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety responded to a complaint of the smell of cannabis smoke in the building. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Development.
11 p.m., MEDICAL, T. Fleming Fieldhouse — A student was transported for the treatment of a sports-related injury. The incident was referred to OSD.

Jan. 12

3:45 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Neal Hall — A bag containing cannabis was found during a fire alarm building check. The incident was referred to OSD.
9:50 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety responded to a complaint of the smell of cannabis smoke in the building. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Development.

Julian Boireau
Julian Boireau is a senior majoring in international relations and minoring in French. This is his fourth year working for TKS, having served as co-news editor during his sophomore and junior years. He has been involved in journalism for seven years, serving as opinions editor of the newspaper and editor-in-chief of the literary magazine at Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles, California. In September 2012, Julian received press credentials to attend the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City, where he reported on remarks by President Barack Obama and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. He is also the recipient of back-to-back first place awards from the Illinois College Press Association for front page layout.
