Campus Safety Log April 24 – April 30: Flunk Day scares aplenty

6:55 a.m., NOISE, Main campus grounds — Campus Safety responded to a report of a possible Flunk Day scare.

12:30 p.m., DISTURBANCE, Umbeck Science-Mathematics Center — Two students were involved in a verbal dispute. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Development.

5:37 p.m., THEFT, 270 W. Tompkins St. — A student reported the theft of a bicycle from the back porch of a residence.

9:35 p.m., FIRE ALARM, Furrow Hall — Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by a lit candle. The incident was referred to OSD.

10:36 p.m., FIRE ALARM, Conger Hall — Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by burnt popcorn.

April 25

8:26 a.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, South Academy Street residence — A student reported receiving a harassing telephone call from an unknown caller.

April 26

5:12 p.m., DISTURBANCE, Tau Kappa Epsilon — Campus Safety received a report of a verbal exchange between persons. The incident was referred to OSD.

April 27

1:15 a.m., DISTURBANCE, Tau Kappa Epsilon — Campus Safety identified and warned a student at a party involved in inappropriate conduct. The incident was referred to OSD.

7:30 a.m., DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, Ford Center for the Fine Arts — Campus Safety observed students attempting to damage a chair. The incident was referred to OSD.

10:50 p.m., DISTURBANCE, Hamblin Hall — Campus Safety identified and warned persons using a PA speaker in a public area. The incident was referred to OSD.

April 28

6:35 p.m., MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, Seymour Hall — A student was transported to the hospital for treatment for an allergic reaction.

9:45 p.m., FIRE ALARM, Hamblin Hall — Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm activated by overcooked food.

April 29

2 a.m., UNWANTED SUBJECT, Phi Gamma Delta — Students noticed an intoxicated person attempting to remain on the property after being asked to leave. Campus Safety and the Galesburg Police Department warned the person.

5:50 a.m., NOISE, Main campus grounds — Students were involved in a Flunk Day scare.

9:37 a.m., THEFT, Seymour Hall — A student reported the theft of a bicycle from the bike racks at the rear of Seymour. The incident was also reported to GPD.

11 a.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, South Academy Street residence — Campus Safety officers noted evidence of drinking game materials during an unrelated check. The incident was referred to OSD.

1:46 p.m., UNWANTED SUBJECT, Beta Theta Pi — A student reported a verbal dispute with another person while attending a registered party.

April 30

3:05 a.m., UNWANTED SUBJECT, Phi Gamma Delta — Students reported that an intoxicated person had entered the house and damaged property. The person was arrested.

6:05 a.m., MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Main campus grounds — Campus Safety noticed students accessing water fountains in order to put water on the quad lawn. The incident was referred to OSD.
