President Barack Obama will use Knox College and Galesburg as the backdrop for kicking off a series of economic policy speeches.

Obama’s earlier confirmed visit to Galesburg Wednesday will include a speech in the Memorial Gym. The speech will launch a series of events designed to lay out Obama’s economic policy plans for his second term as president.

Public access to the speech Wednesday afternoon will be limited. Tickets will be available in the Office of Communications on a first come, first served basis at 1 p.m. Monday.

According to a press release, Obama’s speech “will lay out his vision for rebuilding an economy that puts the middle class and those fighting to join it front and center.”

This will be Obama’s first visit to Galesburg since his surprise stop at Galesburg High School in 2011.

    Kathryn-

The speech is scheduled to begin around noon, and I expect it would be on all local stations and most national cable news channels.
