Photos: Khasma Piano Duo

The Khasma Piano Duo, featuring Director of Piano Studies Ashlee Mack and Katherine Palumbo, gave a recital Friday, Oct. 4 in Kresge Recital Hall.

They played pieces from 20th and 21st century composers, including Alan Hovhaness, David Maki, William Bolcom, Igor Stravinsky, Morton Feldman and John Adams. David Maki, an Associate Professor of Music at Northern Illinois University, was in attendance.

Mack and Palumbo have playing together since they met at Bucknell University in 2000 and formed the duo in 2012.

Michelle Orr is a senior double majoring in German and music. This is her third year as an editor for TKS; prior to that, she worked as a TKS photographer and front page and inside news editor for her high school paper. She is the recipient of a second place award from the Illinois College Press Association for photo essay.
