Adding to an already-eventful homecoming week, the Center for Intercultural Life will be bringing Seattle-based filmmaker Eliaichi Kimaro to campus on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Eliaichi Kimaro’s documentary, “A Lot Like You: The Culture We Inherit and the Legacies We Choose” follows her father through his village in Tanzania as she better understands her culture and roots as a mixed-race, first-generation American. The documentary explores her father’s village and upbringing and comments on domestic violence.
The documentary was screened this past Sunday, but will be screened as an encore presentation on Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Roger Taylor Lounge at 7:30 p.m.
Eliaichi Kimaro will visit campus Thursday and discuss her experience and the making of the documentary. The presentation will take place in the Ferris Lounge at 6:30 p.m.
