Campus Safety Log: Rash of sign thefts

Jan. 19

8 p.m., FIRE ALARM MALFUNCTION, 516 S. West  St. — Campus Safety and the Galesburg Fire Department responded to an alarm. The security panel indicated water damage, but the system would not reset. A work order was submitted.

Jan. 18

3:10 p.m., ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE, TKE House — report of damage to a window while a resident was knocking on it to get into the house. The incident was referred to OSD.

9:45 p.m., ACCIDENTAL FIRE ALARM, Sigma Nu —  Campus Safety and GFD responded to a fire alarm. Evidence of smoking materials was noted. The incident was referred to OSD.

10:19 p.m., FOUND PROPERTY, Sigma Nu — Campus Safety officers found a parking sign inside the door of Sigma Nu while responding to a fire alarm. The sign was returned to Campus Safety.

11:59 p.m., INTOXICATED SUBJECT, Hamblin Hall — Campus Safety was notified of an intoxicated subject in Hamblin. No medical attention was needed, but the subject was checked by Campus Safety throughout the night. The incident was referred to OSD.

Jan. 16

9:35 p.m., FOUND PROPERTY, 265 S. Academy St. — Campus Safety officers found a visitor parking sign on the front porch of the residence. The sign was returned to Facilities Services.
