Campus Safety Log: Three sexual assaults reported

Feb. 10

Campus Safety6:10 a.m., ANIMAL COMPLAINT, GDH — Officers responded to a report of a bat in an academic building. It was captured and released.

Feb. 9

12:33 a.m., ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Phi Gamma Delta — Officers responded to an intoxicated student requiring medical attention. The student was transported to St. Mary’s via ambulance, and the incident was referred to OSD.

1:23 a.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Post Hall — Officers responded to a suspicious incident of loud knocking on a suite door.

12:15 a.m., INFORMATION, Williston Hall — Campus Safety was notified by GFD of a fire code violation involving propped doors.

3:50 a.m., ALCOHOL VIOLATION, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety responded to a report of an intoxicated student, who was escorted to a friend’s residence. The incident was referred to OSD.

Feb. 8

6:20 a.m., INFORMATION, main campus grounds — A water main break was discovered near the Seymour Library parking lot.

9:34 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Drew Hall — A strong odor of cannabis was reported. Campus Safety discovered illegal consumption of alcohol while responding to the report. The incident was referred to OSD.

11:23 p.m., ACCIDENTAL FIRE ALARM, Phi Gamma Delta — Campus Safety and the Galesburg Fire Department responded to an alarm activated by heat from a cotton candy machine. The incident was referred to the Office of Student Development.

Feb. 7

2:34 p.m., POSSESSION OF WEAPONS, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety opened an investigation into an allegation of student storage of a knife in late January.

3:47 p.m., SEXUAL MISCONDUCT, Seymour Hall — Campus Safety opened an investigation into an allegation of sexual harassment that occurred between two students known to one another in late January.

1:10 p.m., INFORMATION, 240 W. Tompkins St. — Campus Safety received information from GPD regarding a fraud complaint filed by a student.

Feb. 6

8:55 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Drew Hall — A strong odor of cannabis was reported. The incident was referred to OSD.

12:20 a.m., MISCHIEVOUS CONDUCT, Knosher Bowl — Campus Safety discovered students sledding in the Knosher Bowl. Students were assisted out and advised that sledding there is prohibited. The incident was referred to OSD.

Feb. 5

7:45 p.m., DISTURBANCE, Griffith Hall — Campus Safety responded to a report of indecent exposure in a residential area.

8:10 p.m., CANNABIS VIOLATION, Drew Hall — A strong odor of cannabis was reported. The incident was referred to OSD.

Feb. 4

SEXUAL ASSAULT, Elder Hall — Campus Safety opened an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault that took place in Elder Hall in April 2011 between two persons who had been in a relationship.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, Griffith Hall and 240 W. Tompkins St. — Campus Safety opened an investigation into two allegations of sexual assault between two persons who had been in a relationship. The incidents were estimated to have occurred in October 2011 and October or November 2012.

7:10 p.m., MEDICAL, Lay Natatorium — Campus Safety responded when a student needed assistance being freed from a swim lane divider.

12:44 p.m., THREATS, Post Hall — Campus Safety opened an investigation into allegations of phone and text threats between two people in a relationship.

5:45 p.m., SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT, Tompkins lot — Campus Safety responded to a report of damage to the rear window of a vehicle in late January.
