A Knox student may have been the victim of unwelcome conversation or physical contact on Thursday, Oct. 2, according to a campus-wide email sent by Campus Safety. The incident occurred near the corner of South and Academy Streets.
Galesburg Police Department and Campus Safety Officers investigated the report further and confirmed that the female student had been approached by an older male who attempted to engage in conversation and physical contact with the student. The student was able to disengage, and the male was last seen near the Hamblin parking lot.
Investigation is ongoing, though attempts to confirm the identity of the male have thus far been successful. According to Campus Safety, the male has been described as approximately 28-years-old with a thin build. He may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but more details will be provided as investigation continues.
