Health Center provides wellness days, assault advocacy

The Health Center introduced this week a wellness groups, sexual assault procedures assistance and a future advisory board. Here’s the breakdown:

Wednesday Wellness

New this term, the counseling center is hosting Wellness Wednesdays on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month in Alumni Hall outside admissions. Students are encouraged to gather at 12 p.m. to relax and talk about self-care during what can be a rough time year. The first will be held this Wednesday, Jan. 14.

Advocacy Hours

Monday thru Friday, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Health Services has set aside a time for students seeking out information on the sexual assault reporting procedure, which will be held in a confidential space. To reserve a time, contact Vicki Swedlund at

Health Advisory Board

Want more groups and individual help like mentioned above? Students can apply to sit on a Health and Counseling Advisory Board to give input on how best to serve Knox students. Applications are available upon request.

Callie Rouse
Callie Rouse graduated in 2017 as a international relations major and double minor in creative writing and history. She has been involved in journalism since her sophomore year in high school and worked for The Knox Student for four years. She worked as a News Editor her sophomore to senior years. During her freshman year Callie served as Student Government Reporter.
