TKS Player of the Week: Jamie Blue

As Women’s Basketball continues to rise in the Midwest Conference, senior Jamie Blue is as reliable as ever. Helping secure another win for the Prairie Fire against Lawrence University, the team pulled out a 73-66. Blue accounts for 11 rebounds and 20 of the total 73 points. Blue’s performance placed her above her average of 14 points and eight rebounds per game.

Her teammates in the Lawrence match were sophomore Naja Woods adding 17 points and leading score of six assists, freshman Karlie Thorn producing 13 points and senior Jasmine Binion rounding out with 11 points.

While the women were unable to hold off Monmouth on Tuesday falling 60-77, sophomore Hailey Leinart led with 21 points. Blue tied freshman Morgan Potter, as both produced five boards, the leading number for the Prairie Fire.

While the women are proving themselves a contender this season, the men have fallen short. The men also fell to Monmouth, but freshman Braden Adams lead the scoring with 23 points followed by sophomore Caylab Herrera, who put up 20 points. The men, like the women, are hoping to add another W in their next match.

Basketball has their next game at home this Saturday where they face Lawrence University once again, hoping to replicate their first match-up.

Why no picture of Jamie Blue in the article that is headlined with her being named TKS Player of the Week? There are several action photos of her available through the Office of Communications or Sports Information. As a senior who has been a significant part of the program, and in particular its improvement the past few seasons, Jamie should be recognized appropriately.
