Club Sports Update

Ultimate frisbee – The men and women are competing at sectionals this coming weekend, April 14 and 15 in Bourbonnais, IL. If the men place in the top six, they move on to regionals. If the women win the whole tournament, they move on to nationals. The women will have the most competition with Valpraiso University and North Park University.

Women’s water polo – The women competed at Carleton College this past weekend, April 7 and 8. The Fire won one and lost three, beating St.Mary’s University. Junior captain Emma Newman performed well on offense and defense, with the most shots on goal. The women will compete in conference the weekend of April 21 at Grinnell College.

 

Equestrian – The equestrian team has begun their spring practices, with a showing competition coming up on April 21. Sophomore captain Tali Bossingham has been working with an off-track thoroughbred in need of rehabilitation and hopes to ride him in the upcoming competition. The showing will last all day and be located at The Heart of Illinois Arena in Peoria, IL.
